三阿弥とは関鍛冶七流の一つ。関鍛冶七流とは善定、三阿弥、奈良、室屋、徳永、得印、良賢の七派を指し、そのほとんどが大和から美濃関へ移住した刀工が祖になっています。
三阿弥兼高は室町期より続く名家で、本作は江戸初期の業物刀工陸奥守兼高。
互の目乱れの刃文に小板目がよく詰んで地肌がよく分かる出来で、総体に精美である。
おおよそ注文作であるこの長さ。手にしてみれば分かりますが、長寸でありながらしっくりくる、一切負担を感じさせない手持ち感。
時代蝋色打刀拵付き。
